Dr Rachael Davenport is a highly experienced specialist dermatologist and Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists (FACD), with broad expertise across medical, surgical and paediatric dermatology. She is known for her comprehensive approach, clinical precision, and dedication to improving outcomes for patients with chronic inflammatory skin diseases.
Dr Davenport completed her dermatology specialist training at several major tertiary hospitals in Melbourne, including The Alfred Hospital, St Vincent’s Hospital, The Austin Hospital, and The Royal Children’s Hospital. She has also worked in multidisciplinary melanoma clinics at the Victorian Melanoma Service, developing a strong foundation in skin cancer diagnosis and treatment.
Dr Davenport has a particular interest in the diagnosis and management of hidradenitis suppurativa (HS)—a painful, chronic skin condition that affects hair-bearing areas such as the underarms, groin, and buttocks. At Skindepth Dermatology, she performs the deroofing procedure, a surgical technique that removes the roof of tunnels and abscesses to relieve symptoms, reduce recurrence, and promote healing. Her management of HS is comprehensive, combining medical therapies, procedural interventions, and individualised patient education.
In addition, Dr Davenport is an expert in the treatment of moderate to severe psoriasis, and is highly experienced in the use of biologic therapies—targeted medicines that treat the root causes of inflammatory skin conditions.
